How fortunate we are for another day, another fire lit, another pot filled and another opportunity to serve. There’s truly something special about a warm meal. It carries more than food, it carries care, dignity, kindness and hope.
Once again, willing hands came together around the pots, chopping, stirring, laughing and cooking with one shared purpose, to make someone else’s day a little brighter.
What makes these days special isn’t how much we prepare, but the heart with which it is prepared. Somewhere, someone will receive a warm meal and hopefully be reminded that they are seen, they matter and someone cares. Perhaps that is the beautiful thing about service, while we set out to fill someone else’s plate, somehow our own hearts leave a little fuller too.
The gas may fuel the fire, but compassion keeps the pots going. We thank all those that contributed towards this feeding, may you and your families be rewarded abundantly.
