Unity of love

What is meant by Unity of love? When breaking it down, love is considered a language that speaks to oneness, rather than separation. Unity on the other hand, reflects that we are one, interconnected to serve and support humanity. There are similarities between the two, however what stands out is oneness and togetherness.

In Arabic the Almighty goes by the names amongst others, “Al-Wadud” which means the affectionate or the loving and “Al-Ahad” which means “The One” . Is this not a lesson to teach us that we should love & ponder as human kind on these two names of the Almighty? This shows that we should not only believe in one deity, but that we should be united as people to show love and affection for all of humanity.

Yesterday we saw many new & old faces that assisted, and also realised that together with our sponsors, the team, volunteers and distribution partners, that we are buildings a community to work together as one unit for one ultimate purpose despite our different races, cultures or religion. We come together to serve the creation of the Creator, especially those in need due to poverty and inequality in our country.

We managed to feed approximately 2,500 people, in the informal settlements in Athlone and communities of Khayelitsha, Lavender Hill, Vrygrond, Parkwood and Cape Town. How delighted and humbled we were to be providing a warm & nutritious meal to people in need.

As we grow older we realise that small things with great love are more important and powerful than we realise, whether it’s cooking a meal with love, listening to someone’s troubles with an open heart, or going deep in prayer until you connect with the love of the Almighty. In all these acts, we live the love that unites us and through our loving, we nourish life in unseen ways.

We would like to thank our sponsors, the team, distribution partners and volunteers for your support. We appreciate all the support, together we are united to make a difference to those in need.
