Nourishing those in need

As we learn nourishment means eating the food necessary for growth and good health. To us nourishment is not merely food which serves as a fuel, food is also about family and about community, which is cooked with love and shared with people in need. We would like to show our appreciation to our Creator for making today possible, for giving us the strength and for the relationships we build in our communities. Today we served Soya Akni, Lamb Akni and soup to the impoverished, orphaned and destitute, feeding 2,900 people.

We fed the communities of Khayelitsha, Lentegeur, Hillview, Parkwood and Vrygrond. It was so heartwarming providing a warm plate of food to people in our communities. We would like to thank our sponsors and everyone for your support in the preparation, cooking and distribution, without each one of you this would not have been possible.

As the saying goes, “Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become reality.” May all our efforts in fighting hunger continue for many years and through the mercy of the Almighty may poverty and hunger be eradicated.
