As we face many challenges in our daily lives, some in our control and other not, we tend to become sad and unhappy. We look at the world as a pessimist instead of understanding that with each breath we take there is always hope. So why should we be hopeful? We should be hopeful as each day brings about many blessings for instance the Almighty has granted us gifts such as sight, hearing, smelling, the ability to stand upright because of our bones, the ability to move because of our muscles and also the ability to be hopeful that with every difficulty we experience comes ease.
These gifts given to us represents the love the Almighty has for each and everyone of us. So how should we reciprocate this love from the Almighty? As human beings we are all given a purpose in life which should include serving His creation. We would therefore like to inspire others to serve humanity in order to show gratitude for the many gifts we have been granted. We are fortunate to answer the prayers for food from those impoverished, orphaned and destitute.
Today we did a community drive, feeding the impoverished and destitute in the informal settlements in the Athlone and the surrounding area. We distributed to the Pooke Road Informal Settlement, Egoli Informal Settlement, The Vlei Informal Settlement and two informal settlements in Belgravia. How blessed we were to put a smile on the faces of our guests young and old and seeing them enjoy their meal. Despite this heartfelt moment feeding humanity it was heart sore to see the residence of these informal settlements not having access to clean water.
In addition to the feeding of the informal settlements, we also provided food to the Montana Primary School in Kalksteenfontein. We would like to thank Infarmer for providing this contact which will allow us to feed their community for many years to come.
In total we managed to feed on average 1,100 mouths. With our feedings from the Belhar team in December and January and today’s feeding initiative we have managed to exceed 20,000 mouths taking the total mouths fed to date to 22,850. We thank each of our sponsors, family, friends and the team for all your continued support.
Below are some pictures of today’s feeding.
