As we start our cooking for the year ahead, we reflect on how a bird perseveres to make its nest and feed their little ones. Each day a bird would leave its nest without provisions looking to sustain their little ones. Without fail the Almighty makes this possible providing provisions on a daily basis to their little ones.
As humans we are not any different, however what makes this not possible is due to the amount of people suffering from poverty due to unemployment in our country. It is each one of our duties who are by the means to try and assist those struggling on a daily basis to relieve those suffering of poverty in our country. The more this mindset is instilled in us, the more we are able to make a change. Although it might small and insignificant, it is significant to those in need.
Today we managed to feed 1,300 mouths taking the total mouths fed to 17,550. We fed the community in Khayelitsha, Vrygrond and the old age home in Wynberg. What a pleasure it was to see a smile on the faces of the recipients. We are grateful to serve our communities and would like to thank each and everyone of our sponsors and the team for your continued support.
May this year ahead inspire others to assist the impoverished and destitute and allow us to empower people within these communities with programmes which create sustainable feeding initiatives. Together we are able to make a bigger difference to those in need.
Below are some pictures of today’s feeding.
