“Children are our greatest treasure. They are our future.” – Nelson Mandela. As investing in children are one of our most valuable resources as they create hope for a better future, we wanted to end the year off putting a smile on the faces of children in need.
The target for this drive was to provide toys and party packs for 100 kids. Through the grace of the Almighty we managed to exceed our target providing a smile to 140 orphans and children in need. We would like to thank Play Date Super Parks in assisting with the toy drive as well as all the sponsors that made this possible.
We distributed the toys and party boxes to 140 children of Leliebloem Children’s Home, Christine Revell, Orphans of Surrey Estate, St Michael’s Child and Youth Care Centre and SA Children’s Home. It was heart warming to see these little faces light up for something we might seem so small, brought them so much joy.
This year thanks to the Almighty and your support we manage to exceed all our objectives. One thing we realised during this year is that inside everyone resides goodness. When we have in our hands what another person needs, the Almighty is answering that persons prayers through us. Sometimes our lives become so busy that we forget what really matters and that we are able to make a difference in the lives of others. Together with your support we were able to make a small difference in the lives of those in need.
Since April this year we managed to feed 16,525 mouths, provide comfort to 530 women for 3 months with our sanitary drive, provided food parcels to 100 families, providing shelter to 1,000 homeless and put a smile on 240 children through our eid and children drives. Without your support this would not be possible, therefore we would like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank all our sponsors and everyone involved for their contributions this year, it is appreciated and we are grateful.
As Imam Ali once said, “Aim to live in this world without allowing the world to live inside you, because when a boat sits on water, it sails perfectly but when water enters inside the boat, it sinks.” Together may we be able to achieve more in even more in 2022 and make a bigger difference to those in need.
